The 68th UP Presence in iloilo: One UP, Level UP

Now on its 68th year, the University of the Philippines VIsayas continues to foster academic excellence in Iloilo. This year's theme is "One UP, Level UP" which means that the university is one with the UP  system in promoting unity, honor and excellence.

In our own honest opinion, we haven't  had so much enjoyment during the entire U-week since classes are not suspended. Therefore, we haven't inculcated the true essence of celebrating the foundation week because our faces were still stuck in books, reviewers and on the faces of our professors. Due to some academic requirements, we were not able to join some activities in Miagao particularly last Wednesday.

Although we haven't relished the University Week, we still value the spirit as a "Iskolar ng Bayan" by being dedicated and devoted students of "THE" national university because as what they say " Many have taken and tried, but only few were chosen!" -- and we are the CHOSEN ONES! WE ARE ONE UP!

The Laguda Mansion Ruins

The Laguda Mansion Ruins is located along the General Hughes street in Iloilo City, Philippines. This grand mansion is an example of a neoclassical architecture. Sadly, the Laguda Mansion Ruins is now completely ruined due to commercialization.

The grandeur that was Oton

This is the old Oton Church in Iloilo. It was considered to be the largest church in the Philippines until an earthquake in 1984 damaged it completely. It is the only church with a Greek cross form that has a Byzantine and Gothic architecture.
